The Akasa Nero LX is a low profile and top blow CPU cooler with direct heatpipe contact. I can recommend this cooler for all CPUs with a TDP of 95 W and below such as Core i3, Core i5 and Core i7 and even moderate overclocking.
The cooler comes with the Akasa AK-455 thermal paste and is compatible to all latest Intel and AMD CPUs (excluding Socket 2011).
A 120 mm fan provides a good cooling but reaches up to 48.4 dB with 12 Volt. I recommend to use 5 or 7 Volt supply voltage as the cooler still performs very well at those voltages but the noise-level drops to 34.4 dB at 5 Volt.
If you plan to use this cooler on mainboards with memory slots close to the CPU socket you might experience some compatibility issues. The fan frame often comes close to the first memory slot so make sure you use low profile memory sticks without heatspreader or ultra low profile memory.
- Low noise at 5 Volt
- Low profile cooler
- Good performance for a low profile cooler
- Top-Blow cooler will keep the surrounding elements such as VRMs cooler.
