ASRock Z170 Extreme4 Non-K OC BIOS

ASRock Z170 Extreme4 Non-K OC BIOS

Support for BCLK Overclocking of CPUs like i3-6100, Pentium G4400, i5-6400, i7-6700 and all other non-K CPUs.

Don’t use this for K-series CPUs.
It might damage your hardware, no guarantees provided.

  • Enter the BIOS and go to the OC Tweaker – DRAM Configuration.
  • Load the XMP Profile to adjust your memory correctly
  • Adjust the BCLK to the level you need
  • Adjust the DRAM Frequency to the correct level. I had to stay below 2800 MHz on the memory to achieve high BCLK clocks
  • Go to: OC Tweaker – Voltage configuration. Set the vCore you want. Stay below 1.40 for 24/7 OC

running a i7 6700 and the asrock extreme7 z170 and windows 10, just flashed this and my computer wont reboot, dr debug showing 00, had to switch to 2nd bios and restore the first one to get my computer to start again.

Is this an issue with windows 10?

Extreme4 or 7? This is for 4, this can be the problem. If not:

Windows 10 updates the microcode on boot. The new microcode is delivered through windows update in single updates, they’re even described by MS as microcode update. Try to reinstall win10 on stock settings with newest BIOS without SkyOC, remove mcgenuine_intel.dll (it’s related to microcode update). TURN OFF windows update or blacklist the malicious ones, flash SkyOC bios, done.

Tell me if it worked cause I plan the same build now

Dont use this bios, it is very bugged. When use blck overclock you may have problems with booting pc after shut down. I was getting code 04(or D4) post code after i cold start my pc. Had to push restart each time so it boots from 2nd time. Wasted 5 hours with bios settings to find what causes this except changing blck clock. Downloaded 2.80(latest non-k oc supported bios) bios from asrock and no more problems.

I was using the 2.8 too, but you can download the official newest 7.0 bios and overclock without issues.

I tried today and works well, dual bios is a great plus for this mobo.

      Just download the offic

I can confirm this now to. Updated to latest 7.0 bios and blck overclock is there.
So people, dont use this a year outdated bugged bios, just go to asrock and dl latest there.

Wait, wait, wait….you want to say that 7.0 bios version actually SUPPORT non-k OC??
          How that can be true?
What about Intel’s prohibition of non-k OC BIOS-es in newer versions?
