ASRock Z170M Extreme4 Non-K OC BIOS

ASRock Z170M Extreme4 Non-K OC BIOS

Support for BCLK Overclocking of CPUs like i3-6100, Pentium G4400, i5-6400, i7-6700 and all other non-K CPUs.

Don’t use this for K-series CPUs.
It might damage your hardware, no guarantees provided.

  • Enter the BIOS and go to the OC Tweaker – DRAM Configuration.
  • Load the XMP Profile to adjust your memory correctly
  • Adjust the BCLK to the level you need
  • Adjust the DRAM Frequency to the correct level. I had to stay below 2800 MHz on the memory to achieve high BCLK clocks
  • Go to: OC Tweaker – Voltage configuration. Set the vCore you want. Stay below 1.40 for 24/7 OC

All I get is a Black screen and no boot…even if I just bump it up even a little bit..AsRock z170m Extreme4…I read it disables igpu..if I have a dedicated GPU will it boot then?I thought I could OC w/o a dedicated GPU but not having any luck…anybody else know why its not booting…tried going 30mv at a time…dropping the memory down further, and further as low as it will go and no boot…ugh

I’ve seen on the other comments you needed a dedicated GPU.

Were u able to get it done? I’m gonna test it out today. Any info will help thanks.

      Got an i5 6400

1.35 loaded. bclk to 140 , change to 2400, 1.325v, just getting black screens, this is with a GPU.

What am I doing wrong? Any tips would help.

      Thanks

    QUIET!!! SHHHH!

    Don’t let Intel hear this.

I own a overclocked I5 6500 4.5GHz on a Z170 Extreme4 official BIOS 2.8, the last with SKY OC feature, but today I decided to try the new bios, the official 7.0 version that enables 7th generation of Intel CPU’s. And i realized that i can overclock my I5 6500 without any issues.

Do the OVERCLOCK with a more stable BIOS!

    Thank’s

Anyone else confirm this 😀 ? I’d like a second source at least

Does anyone know if this works for the z170m board? I want to upgrade to a kaby lake CPU down the line but would still like to OC my g4400 till that time comes.

        YES,

They have reintegrated the sky-oc feature in bios versions 7.00 and 7.20 for Asrock z170m extreme 4 motherboards. I have an i5 6400 and have noticed a slightly lower overclock but have not tailored settings yet to see if ram stability is now different or if I have forgotten a voltage setting. For some reason there is a built in oc setting when you enable sky-oc of about 3.5 GHz but you can over ride that in bios to what ever bclk you prefer (or have stable on your system). Exciting news for us non-k overclockers. CB

          THANK YOU!

I just updated to 7.20 and it works great sky oc is there and everything!
Now I’m waiting to see reviews on that core i3 7350k for my potential upgrade.
