I have significant problems getting any stable overclocks. OS won’t boot with as low as 105 BCLK and LLC lvl 7 and 1.375v. Maybe the DDR3 motherboards aren’t capable of such overclocks?

I got no problems with this board. my i3 6100 run @ 4.44 ghz with 1,35v and ddr3 1920 @ 1.6 v blck 120 and disable all power save stuff and the igpu.

Same here Alex. I also have a Core i3-6100 and the Asus Z170-P D3 overclocks just fine. You just need to follow directions and make sure that you are not using the Intel GPU and that SpeedStep and the C States are disabled. Overclocking the CPU will also overclock your memory so adjust your memory speed in the bios so it is running within spec.

With the included Intel cooler, I have the BCLK at 116 MHz without any issues. 120 MHz was not Prime95 stable. It takes too much voltage but this might be OK if I decided to use something like the CoolerMaster Hyper 212 EVO.

If you ever want to go back to a non-overclocking bios, no need to update from this bios. Just set everything to AUTO in the bios and then this bios (8002) will automatically switch back to normal mode where everything including the temperature sensors and C States, etc. all work fine.

Simple overclocking, very stable system, low cost, highly recommended.

after installing this bios my user account got damaged under windows. Lost startup and had to use System Restore. The windows worked with this bios for 14 minutes and the next time I was able to boot to windows I got a Dos based 4 color screen error telling me I had and unofficial bios installed. And it never worked after. Bad luck?

I managed to reach a stable overclock @ 4.4 ghz 1.3V. A quick Prime95 test gave no errors, package temps stayed below 70 C.

Got a 6500 to 4GHz and RAM at 3,000MHz stable at 1.35V, but I left the LLC at Auto because when I had it set to 7, it was a little unstable. Not overly interested in pushing further, but maybe ll get bored…

Im running my cpu at 4.5GHz, but in windows task manager it only shows as 3.17GHz, and benchmarks show what score i would get at stock even though other cpu programs (cpu-z) show me at 4.5GHz?

Hi guys ! Please dont use UEFI Tool and Flash Programming Tool to flash from last 2002 official bios to 8002 overclock bios : It will beak your board just as I broke mine. Don’t know what happened but the tool did its job with no bugg or warnings. It ended normally the flash process but the fact is my board will not boot again. I just wanted to advise…
